and Be Noticed.

5 Crucial Mid-Career Change Factors That Free You To Stand Up and Be Noticed.

Time to stand up and be noticed. Let these
five mid-career change factors be your guide.

Too often you may find yourself migrating from career to career, giving little or no thought to your long term career progression.

Until one day, you look up to find that you are miserable and frustrated because you have landed in a career that doesn't light you up.

In fact, you may be starting to dread each working day because you feel that you are supposed to be doing something else...something more significant with your life.

So...now what?

  • What should you do to ensure that your mid-career change will land you in a career that brings you fulfillment?

Mid-Career Change Factor One:

Factor in who you are and what it is that you plan to use your life to accomplish.

  • Fact is, you are not the person you once were.

  • You will need to take stock of what it is that you would really enjoy doing and then find a way to bring more of that into your career.

    • For some mid-career changers this will mean taking on a new job in a new company.

    • While for other mid-career changers, this will mean finding a new career all-together.

Mid-Career Change Factor Two:

You've got to get to the bottom of what it is that is causing your discontentment:

  • Are you feeling stuck because you are in a career that drains your energy because it doesn't let you use all of you?

    • Or are you feeling stuck because you are in a job or career that don't align themselves with your work styles and values?

    • Or..is your source of feeling stuck tied to feeling that something is just missing?

  • The more you know about what it is that's causing you to feel stuck, the easier it will become to design a course of action that will help you to get unstuck.

Mid-Career Change Factor Three:

Learn to stand up for who you are and what it is that you really want out of life.

During a mid-career change, you have the opportunity to finally push your career dreams into reality.

  • This will never happen if you don't take the courage to stand on what it is that you want to use your life to accomplish.

  • Thus, you must find work that's more aligned with your values, gifts, talents, and life purpose.

    • You must conduct a thorough self-assessment to determine what it is that you are passionate about.

  • You must stand up for yourself and your purpose by finding a new career that will allow you to use your gifts and talents more fully.

    • If you suspect that you are meant to do something more than what you are doing...

    • Then you must make it your priority to put what it is that you are meant to be doing into words and a plan of action.

Mid-Career Change Factor Four:

Make sure that all of your career-change ideas align themselves to not only match your passion but to also match your life context.

  • A mid-career change gives you the opportunity to reshape your career path.

  • It gives you the opportunity to sort through all of those career choices that do not fit in order to focus on those that do.

Mid-Career Change Factor Five:

Don't lose your focus.

  • You must give yourself the permission to step into a career that deserves everything that you bring to the table.

  • Don't fall into a trap of spending another decade of your life just settle.

You have only one life...thus, you must use it to it's

  • Don't lose sight of who you really are and what it is that you really want to use your life to do.

Here's to your mid-career change success!
