More than likely, your interview will end by the interviewing asking you if you have any questions.

And this is where many interviewees miss an important opportunity.

They flub around and ask a question that doesn't really give them a leg up on the competition by asking some mundane, and meaningless question.

Don't let this be you.

My key career advice to you is to use your interview questions to get a glimpse of what a successful candidate looks like.

Thus, you need to use interview questions that will give you insight into what a successful candidate looks like today, next month, and throughout the next five years.

Some of the interview questions you might want to ask would be:

• Can you give me an example of a typical day for this candidate?

• Can you define for me what success looks like for this candidate in the next 90 days? 6 months? 1 year?

• Where is this company headed in the next five years?

• What does the successful candidate for this position look like in five years?

My key career advice regarding interview questions is to use your interview.

Whatever you do, use your interview to further solidify your value to the company.

Use your interviewing opportunity to learn more about what it is that your interviewer is really looking for.

• Don't waste your time asking questions that yield no value.
